Motorola XOOM flaunts a super powerful processor with an Android based OS (Android 3.0 Honeycomb, specially designed for tablets).

Launched in US on 24th Feb, with the initial price tag of $799 left a few customers guessing and checking if its worthy to buy it and later for those who bought it, were confused on the Honeycomb operating system esp. pertaining to the OS stability issue. (I am not sure, but there were news that these two factors did impact the sales volume)

Given that every newbie has to go through critic review before it gets popular and this is the not the first time, we all are fond of doing that. So let me share few insights about XOOM.

Now given the specifications and the hands on experience that customer earlier had with an Ipad (2), we can compare them and see how each of them fairs. But given the benefits, in terms of faster and seamless browsing on XOOM, because of the new OS and its huge memory space. The built is good with a good battery life and now what people might worry about is price, the weight and the apps and games as there are not many around that would be supported by Honeycomb.

But is the experience worth it, given the limitation which may cease to exist as there will be vendor who will start working on providing services and as the Android platform matures it will be able to add more amazing features to its credit.

Xoom will certainly offer a rich experience in terms of a tablet, thanks to the OS which sole existence was around enriching tablets experience. But will the customer pay the heavy price?

We can only wait and watch till then, as the customer knows that something new is already in the making.
